walking and talking

Goodness. I am in awe that we have come this far: that Josie has come this far. There were so many days I prayed that she simply keep breathing. Her nurses counted her Brady's everyday (Bradychardias- ie how many times a day her preemie brain forgot to breath). How I have come to hate the name Brady! No offense, if your name is Brady. Now, we are counting words and, if you can believe it of our sweet girl, tantrums! She's walking and playing: doing all the normal things a 16 month old (corrected) should do.

a beach day

This was an impromptu afternoon at the beach in October. Grace and Vinny were off school and it was hot at home. So, we grabbed some snacks and diaper bag and headed over to Half Moon Bay. Josie has been to the beach before, but this was the first time she actually sat and played in the sand. She just loved picking it up and feeling the sand fall through her hands. She tossed it and giggled. She thought it was so funny when I covered her feet with sand and then she'd wiggle them out. It was just precious!

Catching up on Month by Month

JUNE- 9 months corrected

Josie began sleeping in her crib during naps. She still slept in infant carseat at night.

She worked so hard on crawling and had a very slow, step by step process toward this big milestone. Here she is in a perfect, yogi plank-pose. Germa Cheryl will be so proud.

Finally able to get her knees underneath her and stop scooting backward.

Sittin' pretty and enjoying some birthday gifts.

Grace's spring dance show! Our beautiful jester!

My gorgeous girls!

Josie and Grace.

A family day out to Dolores Park playground.

City girls.

More birthday presents, so fun! She began crawling really well  around June 10th.

Yum yum! I bring her chair into the kitchen while I cook and she munches.

JULY- 10 months corrected

July marked Josie's first road trip to Huntington Beach. It was an adventure taking such a long drive with the kids by myself, but we had a great time. She began sleeping in her crib and grew out of the infant carseat this month as well.
Hanging out at her cousin Noah's 3rd birthday party.

So happy with cousin Jordan.

Daddy snuggles.

AUGUST- 11 months corrected

I have done a little bit of sign language with Josie (I only know a few signs so far). She makes the sign for "all done" after eating at the table. The other day, Michael was holding her in the other room and came into me asking, "does this mean something (making the sign for milk) because she's doing it" and as they came into the room, Josie pointed to me and made the sign for "milk." So precious!
No, we don't let her play with Lego's unattended but she certainly loved "playing" with Vinny while I was close by.

Pointing at everything! She is so curious. She reaches out and points while saying "ohh, uh!" She especially loves trees, flowers and the buttons on the toaster :)!
